    Village N Life is a leading Tourism and Hospitality company based in the beautiful Pezula nature retreat in Knysna.

    Pezula nature retreat is currently seeking a Culinary Host to join our dynamic Food and Beverage Team.

    The main purpose of the role is to deliver excellent guest services through the management of guest satisfaction and setting departmental targets and objectives. You will be responsible to oversee service in the various Food and Beverage outlets at Pezula nature retreat

    To succeed in this role you will need:

    • Matric
    • Hotel Management Qualification (preferred)
    • Minimum 2-3 years experience in the same or similar role in a luxury hotel environment
    • Familiarity with Micros
    • Quick decision making skills

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Setting and implementing performance standards that will ensure absolute guest satisfaction
    • Ensure effective communication amongst the departments in the Food and Beverage Division as well as between other departments on the property
    • Ensure that group support services is aware of incidents or changes on the property that might affect other parts of the company or other properties
    • Deal with guest complaints within the department
    • Upsell F&B, accommodation and tourism services
    • Perform regular walkabouts of the property to ensure that all areas up to set standards
    • Integrate kitchen and restaurant service to ensure efficient teamwork
    • Ensure service level is of high quality, maintained and sustained
    • Conduct performance appraisals and training on an ongoing basis
    • Achieve food and beverage targets
    • Monitor daily variances reports and action shortages
    • Conduct audits as requested implement property specific strategies to ensure quality of operations
    • Evaluate public guest opinions through portals such as Tripadvisor.
    • Hold regular meetings with finance department to ensure adherence to the property budget
    • Staff recruitment
