    We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Civil Engineering Technologist to join our team at the eThekwini Municipality.

    This role involves controlling professional and technical processes associated with the provision of engineering services to internal and external clients. The successful candidate will provide guidance and advice on proposals and design concepts, ensuring that projects are delivered to the highest standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Technical Guidance: Provide expert advice and information on engineering principles, procedures, and applications for average and complex projects.
    2. Design Development: Apply technical knowledge to develop and present designs for various forms of engineering works, including average complexity or complex projects.
    3. Communication: Disseminate information on engineering design concepts, prepare reports, and coordinate contract documentation for tender applications.
    4. Project Coordination: Guide sequences and procedures for preparing and collating contract documentation, evaluating tender applications, and defining standards for average and complex engineering contracts.
    5. Contract Management: Control the implementation and outcomes of average complexity and complex engineering contracts.

    Requirements:

    1. Qualifications: Bachelor of Technology or Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7) in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
    2. Registration: Registration as a Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr. Technologist) with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
    3. Licence: Valid motor vehicle driving license.
