    Job Title: Mechanical Utilities Foreman

    Location: eThekwini, Durban

    Salary:

    R40,000 per month (negotiable)

    About the Role:

    This permanent position is responsible for ensuring effective and energy-efficient operations of utilities for the line and plant.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for executing themes related to energy and cost savings, maintaining utilities equipment performance within benchmark limits, and implementing planned, predictive, and proactive maintenance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensure effective environmental, health, safety, and risk management to local standards
    • Introduce and adhere to world-class asset care and maintenance principles
    • Compile, manage, and control maintenance budgets
    • Manage performance and people development within the department
    • Manage maintenance projects and feasibility studies
    • Plan utilities availability and planned shutdowns
    • Develop and manage quality systems (ISO 9001/2000) in the responsibility area
    • Ensure compliance to OHSACT and all company risk, health, and safety procedures
    • Develop and implement annual departmental business plans
    • Innovation and business improvements in support of operational goals
    • Problem-solving and technical guidance of the maintenance teams

    Requirements:

    • Matric; National Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering and other related certifications
    • Relevant maintenance and project management experience in a beverage or fast-moving consumables goods environment
    • 6-8 years of strong mechanical experience in thermic heaters, compressors, chillers, or water treatment plants or similar
    • Managed a plant's mechanical and utilities department
    • Proficiency in MS Office/Excel skills and Oracle (advantageous)

    Other Duties:

    • Execution of scheduled, preventive, and proactive maintenance
    • Ensuring spares availability and efficient TF Heater operations
    • Tuning of burners for air-fuel ratio with respect to CO2 and O2%
    • Minimizing repetitive breakdowns and implementing best maintenance practices
    • Optimizing expenses by proper tracking and preparing documentations
