  • Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Reads and becomes familiar with program policy and procedures, philosophies, goals and objectives.
  • Applies discretion and independent judgment to problems relating to medical records and referrals.
  • Organize specialty providers to refer PHI patients to base on insurance or lack of insurance.
  • Schedule STAT requested referrals per specialty and insurance plan, logging information in computer.
  • Document referral to be closed to include attached copy of patient consult report and/or reason for referral closure.
  • Communicate with other departments/patients/providers and agencies to facilitate smooth transactions.
  • Works in coordination with other departments to maintain medical records in accord with established policies and procedures.
  • File loose papers and reports in the chart and assist with the filing of medical records after the chart is in order. Return charts to appropriate department for completion if necessary, i.e. signatures, unfinished charting.
  • Update information as necessary.
  • Understand and properly execute medical records release procedures.
  • Maintains the medical records copy and fax machine in working order.
  • Assists drug representatives with obtaining provider signatures and with scheduling lunches to meet with providers.
  • Inputs patient information into Langley Health Services' Patient Portal and provides guidance to staff and patients regarding use of Patient Portal.-
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal clients and external customers.
  • Maintain work area in a clean, neat and organized manner.
  • Maintain HIPAA at all times.
  • Maintain fax documents and attach appropriate documentation to correct patient record.
  • Communicates effectively.
  • Demonstrates initiative, adaptability and dependability.
  • Provide excellent customer service internally and externally.
  • Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and adhere to deadlines
  • Office and computer skills required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to enhancing the community and the health of its' residents
  • Must be able to produce a high volume of work
  • Must be a self-starter
