Requirements:

Matric or relevant tertiary qualification
SAIW or IIW Level 1 Welding Inspector Diploma or equivalent
Refrigeration experience would be beneficial
Previous experience in a supervisory or management role is essential
Previous exposure to a production environment would be advantageous
Strong technical/operational background

Operational responsibilities

Determine, monitor, and track operations around efficiency, effectiveness, and quality in respect

of:
1.1 Workforce utilisation

Communicate goals and key performance indicators to direct reports
Provide guidance to direct reports
Ensure clarity around priorities and goals for the entire functional area
Ensure that direct reports understand their roles and responsibilities
Ensure that daily, weekly, and monthly tasks are allocated and delegated
Communicate changes from senior leaders
Communicate mission, vision, and values

1.2 Employee management

Recruitment and selection
Monitor employee absences, and address and resolve patterns and abuse
Counselling, disciplinary action, grievances, and conflict resolution

1.3 Employee training

Identify knowledge gaps and arrange training
Guide the talent identification and development processes for a group or function
Provide ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring
Orientation and training of new employees
Plan the career development of individual members of staff

1.4 Resources management

Ensure all equipment and machines are maintained and serviced to specification
Plan and order material in accordance with production requirements
Ensure adequate stock levels

Operating margins

Achieve a correct and on time delivery target of 95%.
Monitor and review manufacturing operations and processes to ensure quality standards are

maintained

Ensure all production processes are cost effective and efficient

1.6 Development and improvement of processes and procedures

Ensure that processes and procedures are developed and effectively implemented to

help the department meet its operational and strategic goals

Identify gaps in processes and implementing improvement measures
Ensure acceptable quality standards for all processes and procedures from all team

members

Production management and reporting

Feedback reports required on ad hoc, weekly, and monthly basis:2.1 Project schedules

Work across functions with peers in other departments to ensure collaboration for shared

goals

Engage and coordinate with other managers across the company
Interact with senior management for reporting
Report back to senior management on productivity and other performance indicators

2.2 Order fulfilment
