    Job Title: Junior Copier Technician

    A dynamic and innovative Service Department within the Office Automation industry is seeking a skilled Junior Copier Technician to join their team.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and technical support by maintaining, servicing, and repairing office equipment at customer locations within the assigned territory.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Analyze malfunctions based on customer descriptions and perform diagnostic tests to isolate issues.
    • Research costs and availability of replacement parts, obtain customer approval before ordering, and maintain tools in good working order.
    • Provide timely service to keep customers satisfied and deliver and install toner as required.
    • Maintain accurate job cards, delivery notes, and necessary paperwork, and build copier machines to client specifications.
    • Install copiers and printers in office environments, liaise with the office on issues beyond technician capabilities, and keep the workshop environment clean and ready for use.
    • Plan daily jobs effectively, attend training on new copier models, and perform preventive maintenance on machines.
    • Complete any other functions as required by management and project a positive company image.

    Educational Requirements:

    • Grade 12 with technical or computer-related subjects such as RTT or IT.
    • CompTIA A+ and N+ certification is advantageous.

    Experience and Skills Required:

    • 1 – 3 years of experience in a similar field is advantageous.
    • General computer skills, ability to read and interpret parts lists and service manuals, and troubleshooting skills for copier hardware and software are essential.
    • Competence in using hand tools and testing copier functions, knowledge of cleaning internal parts, and customer service skills for client interactions are also required.
    • Knowledge of preventative maintenance scheduling and warranty administration, ability to lift heavy equipment, and general PC knowledge and networking skills are beneficial.
    • Good problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and support hardware/software issues, and strong communication skills in English and Afrikaans (verbal and written) are also essential.
    • A valid Driver's license and own reliable transport are necessary.
