The search is on and our Product Planning team is looking for a confident, positive and resilient Planner who has sound commercial thinking, strong analytical and proven numerical abilities for the delivery, implementation and management of departmental business plans that support the SBU's merchandise strategy in accordance with Company strategies and to continue growing this area of our business.

This position is based at our Support Centre in Kuilsriver, Cape Town and will be part of a very diverse and vibrant Planning team.

This Product Planner will be responsible for the Denim and Knits protfolio within our Women's SBU.


Qualifications:


Essential:


  • A Grade 12 Certificate/Matric

Preferred:


  • Comm./ Business Science degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Stats and/or Business Science
  • National Diploma majoring in Internal Auditing and/or Cost and Management Accounting
  • National Diploma in Financial Information Systems

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:


Experience required:


Essential:


  • A minimum of 23 years of Product Planning experience within a relevant retail environment.

Preferred:


  • Replenishment and Assortment planning experience
  • Prior Store Planning experience
  • Previous Store management experience years)
  • Experience working in planning systems such as Arthur Planning, Enterprise Planning, Location Planning, Assortment Planning, Allocation Planning and/or Just Enough (Replenishment System).
  • Previous exposure to general logistics and supply chain processes

  • Knowledge of the retail merchandise cycle with regards to Buying, Planning, Logistics and Stores
  • Knowledge of seasonal & nonseasonal replenishments
  • Knowledge of the SA retail clothing market, customers and competitors

Key Responsibilities:


  • To deliver and implement departmental business plans
    that supports the SBU's merchandise strategy.
  • To achieve and exceed the GMROI and GP Rands, as signed off at the seasonal Business Plan, as per the following indicators:
  • Sales Growth
  • GP Rands
  • GMROI
  • Stock turn
  • CPY Sell off
  • Forecast Accuracy
  • To provide accurate merchandise information within the required timeframes as per critical path to minimize risk and optimize business opportunities.
  • To deliver balanced
    merchandise assortments
    within the required time frame that supports the signedoff departmental business strategy.
