    Description

    Job Summary:

    The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with excellent problem-solving skills, who can effectively create innovative concepts and turn them into software models and product drawings.

    This role involves conducting engineering calculations for sizing products and parts, organizing and maintaining existing engineering records, and ensuring compliance with ISO standards.

    In addition to this, the successful candidate will perform physical testing on prototypes, detail mechanical designs using PowerPoint and AutoCAD, and present these designs to customers for sign-off.

    Maintenance and repair tasks will also be required, including creating maintenance manuals, preparing installation plans, and overseeing project execution.

    Duties:

    • Create conceptual ideas that can be developed into software models and product drawings
    • Conduct engineering calculations for product and part sizing
    • Organize and maintain existing engineering records
    • Ensure compliance with ISO standards
    • Perform physical testing on engineering prototypes
    • Detail mechanical designs using PowerPoint and AutoCAD
    • Present designs to customers for sign-off
    • Create maintenance manuals
    • Prepare installation plans
    • Oversee project execution

    Requirements:

    • Tertiary education is essential for this role
    • Excellent project management skills are required
    • A strong focus on quality and analytical skills is necessary
    • The ability to emphasize excellence in all aspects of work is crucial
    • Extensive knowledge of metal fabrication processes is required
    • The ability to conceptualize designs for specialized machines is necessary
    • Strong analytical and attention to detail skills are required
    • Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D/Inventor CAD software is essential
    • AutoCAD 2D software skills are also necessary
    • A strong understanding of current cutting tool technology is required
    • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design is preferred
