Harbour Arch is a development by the Amdec Group, South Africa's leading developer of New Urban lifestyles. Harbour Arch provides a prime opportunity to work in the Cape Town CBD's first large-scale, inner-city, mixed-use precinct. Like Melrose Arch, this precinct will encapsulate the principles of new urban living, and present an opportunity for people to live, work, play, relax, and stay in a safe, convenient, enjoyable and sustainable community-focused environment. Enjoying fantastic proximity to the city and its surrounds, Harbour Arch's six towers will be located alongside landscaped public spaces bustling with shops, restaurants, cocktail bars, international hotels, offices, health clubs and the largest selection of residential apartments in the CBD.


Key responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Good understanding of general maintenance including plumbing, electrical and building facilities infrastructure
  • Supervise and participate in prompt and courteous checkins, checkouts and servicing of clients during the night
  • Manage and supervise night security operations to safeguard the precinct's assets, facilities, personnel, and clients
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of all services and facilities of the precinct
  • Ability to operate office and technology equipment, such as switchboard, key equipment, credit card machines and printers, precincts alarm systems, and other Property Management System's
  • Utilize and oversee the implementation of advanced security technologies, including surveillance systems, access control, and alarms
  • Implement security protocols and procedures to address specific challenges associated with nighttime operations.
  • Communicates effectively with clients, colleagues, and management
  • Handles promptly and courteously all client related issues, comments, complaints, compliments, request or enquiries; take necessary action and thorough followup as and when needed, and report to management
  • Records in the log book any incidents occurred in the precinct and followsup with the department concerned.
  • Ensure the preparation of relevant reports timeously (weekly / monthly)
  • Ensure that all Service Providers adhere to the Service Level Agreements
  • Conduct regular walkabouts and participating in any cleanups and maintain a clean and tidy environment
  • Maintains high confidentiality in regards to client's privacy
  • Takes action on any suspicious behaviour or actions related to person(s) and reports to the General Manager, and Head of Security for a proper followup
  • Maintains the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct

Key qualifications and experience required:


  • Hospitality Diploma/Degree (preferred)
  • Minimum of 35 years Hospitality experience (essential)
  • Minimum of 35 years Security experience (advantageous)
  • Must have good knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act Regulations
  • Must have strong knowledge of technology (essential)
  • Good understanding of known Property Management Systems
  • Proven experience in security management, with a focus on nighttime operations
  • Must have valid Driver's License and own Vehicle
