Synopsis

A permanent position exists within the Financial Management Department for a Money Market & Foreign Loans Supervisor at the IDC Head office Sandton, reporting to the Head: Financial Management.


The Money Market & Foreign Loans Supervisor will oversee the organization's money market & loans systems, maintaining accurate records and financial documentation.


Qualification and Experience
BA or BSc in economics, accounting, finance, or business administration or other related qualifications


MBA or master's degree in financial management is an advantage

8 to 10 years' experience in the finance management function with at least 3-5 years handling FX and Money Market trading experience

SAP system experience preferably in Loans Management Module

Proficient with
Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Power Point/MS Project), accounting, and financial software.


Mortgage loans:
registration as a mortgage loan originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry ("Registry"), state real estate license


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct FX spot and swap and interest rate swap trades to hedge the bank's assets or as part of Intraday Liquidity Management
  • Creation of contracts on SAP following approval by the relevant credit approval committees and specific Fund approval bodies
  • Monthly clearing of GL clearing accounts, as and when required
  • Manually maintaining interest rates on specific accounts
  • Online debit order collections on relevant payment dates
  • Preparation of normal and IRR settlement amounts, on request from business
  • Action writeoffs as approved by the relevant approval bodies and in line with Delegation Matrix
  • Audits expenditures, ensuring loans compliance with the accounting procedures of the organization
  • Monitors expenditures and prepares monthly financial statements and administrative reports
  • Monitor and project daily cash positions and execute money market transactions to ensure the funding mix and funding cost are in line with the bank's strategies and liquidity and interest rate risks are within preset risk
  • Manage the money market dealing activities of the bank
  • Handle pricing in foreign exchange business and achieve profit through funding activities
  • Manage the shortterm resource mobilization of funds through the money markets to meet liquidity objectives and disbursement needs
  • To establish and maintain good working relationships with major institutional investors and financial institutions
  • Actively participate in the development of presentation materials for Boards & Oversight committees
  • Ad hoc on the job training and mentoring of staff
  • Provide regular reports to the finance committee or executives on the status of earning of idles bank resources
  • Advises clients about the risks, consequences, and benefits of alternative lending solutions
