Job Purpose

This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient and optimal supply of products through end-to-end product demand management.

The position works with cross-functional commercial teams to ensure sound Customer Risk Management initiatives are implemented and aligned with the divisions business goals.

Required Learning

Minimum 5 years related experience including 3 years supply chain management experience.

Bachelor degree in Business, Supply Chain or related fields

FMCG background preferred

Experience in Planning, Logistics, Customer Key Accounts or Customer Buyer would be advantageous

Experience within the Modern Trade Distribution centres would be beneficial

Strong analytical skills, stakeholder management, and strong communication skills

Experience in ERP systems

Key Job Outputs

Customer Risk Management (CRM)

Oversee customer relationship management, focusing on building and maintaining strong connections with customers, including but not limited to:
Developing and implementing CRM strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty from a supply chain perspective;
Utilizing CRM software to analyze customer data, track interactions, and identify areas for improvement;
Collaborating with marketing and sales teams to align CRM initiatives with business goals;
Monitoring customer feedback and implementing tactics to address issues and enhance the overall customer experience.

Build relationships with the Customer DCs.


Obtain the Customer Supplier scorecards and focus on ensuring that we meet the scorecard requirements from a supply chain perspective.

Gain an understanding of the Customer DC stockholdings for the respective regions and compare it to the AI warehouse allocations


Liaise with Sales teams on potential opportunities for sales and monitor stock levels at Customer DCs for key SKUs, basically keeping an eye on Customer safety stock and the Companys regional safety stock.

Generate Regionalized Customer specific reports on inventory and Customer service level scorecards, highlighting Customer supply chain trends.

Forecasting and Stock Management

Ensure the efficient flow of products through accurate forecasting and demand analysis, including but not limited to:
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather data and insights for demand forecasting;
Utilizing statistical models and market trends to predict future demand and optimize inventory levels;
Developing and maintaining relationships with customer dcs to enhance supply chain efficiency;
Monitoring and analyzing inventory performance, identifying variances, and proposing adjustments as needed;
Generating reports and presenting findings to support strategic decision-making; and

Collaborating with Sales and Marketing to build customer specific forecasts per region, which then feeds into the National view.

Track availability of promotional items for the duration of the promotion.


Constantly review the Supply Chain efficiency in relation to our changing demand conditions and recommend amendments to the inventory planning model parameters.


Liaise with Marketing and Sales department with regard to the identification and effective disposal of excess inventories at acceptable profit margins.


Develop the consensus forecast for the brands based on statistical forecast and sales & marketing activities such as promotions and new product launches.


Collaborates with Affiliate buyers and brand & sales team to manage and shape demand, especially during extended out of stocks situations.

Lead the Demand Review section as part of the monthly S&OP meetings, focusing the team on key trends insights and focus the teams energy on strategic areas which makes the biggest impact to the business (e.g. key assumptions, which assumptions went right/wrong, key demand drivers insights etc. )

Customer Order Management


Oversight responsibilities to below:

Ensure pricing and system orders are correct

Liaise with external and internal stakeholders, ensuring seamless order management (NDD and NOD), shipment coordination, and effective stock administration.

Execute planned activities that would ensure efficient inventory management properly across Customers.

Provide timely and accurate weekly stock reports, fostering effective communication with the sales team.

Distribution Management

Manage distribution relationships, both internal and external


Liaise with AI logistics, Sales and Customer DC Managers to ensure the stock is in the right place regionally, keeping in mind the high-volume moving customer Distribution Centre (DC) locations and the priority SKUs for those specific regions.

Manage Inter Branch Transfers, and oversee national replenishment initiatives.
