    Description

    We are seeking to hire an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our Finance team based in Sandton and contribute to our continued success. The main responsibilities of the role are to ensure that the Group, its subsidiaries' AFS and financial records are appropriately and timeously recorded and are in line with IFRS requirements. To Provide technical opinions in respect of financial accounting and disclosure.

    Experience

  • NQF Level 7 Qualification
  • Articles
  • A minimum of 5 - 8 years' experience in managing a financial control function in similar industry.
  • Sound experience with applying accounting practices and experience with IFRS and application of IFRS standards Due diligence processes.
  • Experience in Taxation and VAT submissions
  • Experience in tax calculations and submissions to SARS
  • Experience in setting up financial control processes over finance functions and experience in bank management.
  • CaseWare proficient
  • Exposure to financial modelling
  • Advance Excel skills
  • Experience in the insurance industry for tax related matters
  • Double tax arrangement analysis
  • CIPC and secretarial knowledge.
  • Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the financials records of the company subsidiaries and related companies are properly recorded on a monthly basis.
  • Financial records must align to source systems and all key recons maintained.
  • Sound management of the bank account and control processes in place.
  • Balance sheet management
  • Provide governance and control over General Ledger Reconciliations and Substantiation
  • Take overall responsibility of the control environment in respect of:
  • Balance sheet substantiation
  • Budget and forecasting processes
  • Compliance to financial and tax requirements in terms of the Tax Act and IFRS
  • Reconciliation process in the finance area is working and provide adequate support of the governance process in the areas.
  • Monthly tax computations and tax submissions to SARS.
  • Ensure Innovation Group Annual Financial Statements (AFS) are accurate and that all relevant disclosures are in place per IFRS.
  • Ensure monthly management accounts referenced to Group Reporting Packs are aligned/in line with IFRS.
  • Review and ensure timely submission of reports to Group and auditors.
  • Liaise and assist the auditors during interim & final audits.
  • Assist with the understanding of the presentation of accounts and provide other necessary supporting documentation.
  • Ensure proper records are maintained for all companies.
  • Ensure documentation of and adherence to financial policies and procedures
  • Ensure monthly calculation and processing of income tax
  • Ensure that Annual Financial Statements are prepared in line with IFRS
  • Draft opinions to group in terms of IFRS interpretation for the business
  • Provide advice to the company on new standards that will impact the business immediately or in the future
  • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures, as well as Agreements/Contracts with clients.
  • Ensure compliance and give advice to the business with respect to technical FRS and accounting issues.
  • Ensure compliance to tax and VAT laws
  • Ensure compliance to the regulator and companies` act
  • Ensure on time and accurate reporting to clients
  • Provide client with insightful analysis of their products' performance and trends
  • Maintain good working relationships with clients
  • Understanding the client requirements and continuously improving the quality of financial reports to clients in line with their requirements
  • Managing client expectations and consistent / timeous delivery on these expectations
  • Research and due diligence skills.
