Compliance Officer

The Compliance Officer will be responsible for overseeing the company's compliance function, providing guidance and advice to senior management and the board of directors on compliance-related matters. This includes ensuring that the company meets all relevant regulatory requirements, developing and implementing a compliance policy and framework, and monitoring and reporting on compliance risks.

The ideal candidate will have a B Degree/B Tech/Advanced Diploma in Commerce/Law/Business Administration at NQF7 with 360 credits, as well as a minimum of 10 years working experience in a compliance or related role. They should also be a member of the Compliance Institute Southern Africa and/or Admitted Attorney, with Professional Registration Body: Compliance Institute Southern Africa (CISA).

The key responsibilities of this role include:

Overseeing compliance functions across the organization.
Providing input and recommendations to the board regarding risk management system component operations, efficiency, effectiveness, and internal compliance controls relevant to the compliance control function.
Developing and implementing an annual compliance work plan reflecting the company's unique characteristics.
Reviewing the compliance plan as a result of change.
Overseeing and monitoring legal and regulatory obligations are met, promoting and sustaining a sound compliance culture.
Advising the board and management regarding compliance-related issues.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They should also be computer literate and familiar with review system applications.

Key Performance Areas:

Provide compliance reporting to the board, relevant committees, and stakeholders.
Manage stakeholders, including regulators, heads of control functions, and external auditors.
Manage resources, including determining key integrated objectives and business plans for the compliance control function.

Requirements:

B Degree/B Tech/Advanced Diploma in Commerce/Law/Business Administration at NQF7 with 360 credits.
Member of the Compliance Institute Southern Africa and/or Admitted Attorney.
Professional Registration Body: Compliance Institute Southern Africa (CISA).
Minimum of 10 years working experience in a compliance or related role.

Estimated Salary: R1,200,000 - R1,500,000 per annum.
