    TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER


    The Technical Services Manager is a critical role responsible for overseeing all technical and related services at the hospitals, including infrastructure and asset risks.

    This position requires effective management of hospital facilities, clinical infrastructure, and assets to ensure optimal performance and minimize risks.

    Key Responsibilities:


    1. Management of all hospital facilities, clinical infrastructure, and assets.
    2. Supervision of staff in the Technical Department to ensure efficient operations.
    3. Implementation of ISO 55000 principles for resource planning and allocation.
    4. Provision of training and skills development for nursing, pharmacy, admin, and management staff on technical-related issues.
    5. Management of technical purchasing and expenditure to optimize financial performance.
    6. Monitoring and evaluation of contractor performance to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
    7. Enforcement of Group policies and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and other relevant legislation.
    8. Ensuring quality and safety assurance during and after contract completion as the safety custodian.
    9. Project management and engineering services for small building projects at site.
    10. Financial management and budgeting for the Technical Department.
    11. Maintenance of the asset management database on the CMMS system to ensure data reliability and validity.
    12. Effective management of the maintenance management system to minimize equipment risks and optimize repairs and maintenance.
    13. Professional interaction with colleagues, staff, and clients.
    14. Preparation of regular reports on staff, contractors, facilities, and assets to inform decision-making.
    15. Participation in Hospital, Regional, and National meetings to share best practices and address industry challenges.
    16. Adherence to Netcare's evolving policies and procedures.
    17. Development of training and succession plans in consultation with the HR Manager to ensure staff competency and readiness for statutory requirements.

    Requirements:


    A relevant Bachelor's Degree or B Tech Degree equivalent to NQF level 7 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is essential.

    Work Experience:


    1. At least one year of post-graduate experience in patient care in an operational environment would be beneficial.
    2. A minimum of five years of applicable technical and managerial experience is required.
    3. Experience in Asset Management and Financial Management is highly desirable.
    4. Background in both electrical and mechanical engineering in the hospital and hospitality industries would be advantageous.
    5. Previous project management experience is essential.
    6. Hospital or hospitality experience will be viewed favorably.
