    Life Choices is a Cape Town-based non-profit organisation (NPO) that runs solar courses and assessments in partnership with GREEN Solar Academy (Pty) Ltd.

    We are building a team which is passionate about training young people and industry professionals alike for the just energy transition in South Africa.

    The Technical Lead will report directly to the Green Solar Programme Manager and will be part of the Green Solar team.


    Responsibilities:
    Lead and mentor an in-house support team
    Facilitate theoretical and practical solar courses from entry to intermediate level
    Administer student records in the training room
    Supervise the solar yard, workshop & solar storeroom
    Conduct routine maintenance inspections and repairs
    Assist with procurement of solar training stock
    Develop and manage stock management systems
    Develop and manage stock loss prevention systems
    Produce regular training and technical reports
    Build strategic partnerships with key industry players
    Keep abreast of any new or amended laws, rules or regulations about the sector
    Attend to all technical-related matters and enquiries
    Assist with reviewing, editing and improving content for the solar courses
    Provide general support to the Solar Academy Manager

    Requirements:

    1-3 years in solar PV training and/or installation
    Electrical / mechanical engineering qualification (RPL will apply)
    PV Green Card certification (advantageous)
    Registration as an Assessor (advantageous)
    Servant leadership skills
    Training facilitation skills
    Workshop supervision skills
    Project and risk management skills
    Solar PV mounting, installation and commissioning experience
    Understanding of SANS Wiring of premises code
    Understanding of Electrical Installation Regulations
    Bilingual (at least one language should be English)
    Ability to multi-task and work in a changing environment
    Computer literate
    Drivers licence
