Assistant Tax Consultant - Gauteng, South Africa - the Employment Channel

Key Responsibilities
- Support the GTM in managing Tax and Tax associated compliance.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to gather necessary information for tax returns and other taxrelated matters.
- Examines accounts and records and computes taxes owed according to prescribed rates, laws and regulations.
- Prepare and submit tax returns of the organisation including Group entities its divisions and/or subsidiaries.
- Ensures that organisation complies with periodic tax payment, information reporting and other tax authority requirements.
- Organises and maintains tax records and conducts tax studies and special projects.
- Conduct research on tax laws and regulations to keep up to date with changes and updates in tax laws.
- Coordinate with tax professionals within the group to ensure consistency in tax planning and reporting across the group.
- Proactively research and grow solid understanding of the business operations of each company within the group to identify potential tax implications and opportunities for tax optimization.
- Ensures that organisation complies with periodic tax payment, information reporting and other tax authority requirements.
- Consolidating financial statements for the group for tax reporting purposes
- Assisting with SARS tax audits and investigations.
- Assisting with the preparation of tax strategies for the group.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across various stakeholders within the Group.
- Support the GTM with their daily duties and responsibilities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 3 Years relevant work experience in Corporate Tax
- Bachelor's degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Honours in Tax would be an advantage)
- Knowledge of Relevant tax laws and regulations & Familiarity with intercompany transactions
- Understand VAT & PAYE & understand the tax implications related to mergers & acquisitions within group structure (base cost model)
- Must be proficient in taxrelated software and MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, outlook etc.)
