    Description

    Senior Strategist role in Johannesburg office, leading established brands and building a strategy team in a vision-driven environment.

    This is a senior and visible strategy position with exposure to client CMOs and working with well-respected industry leaders within the Publicis Groupe across multiple internal business units.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Acting as the strategic lead and brand custodian on specific PO1 brands in partnership with the Managing Partner and Creative lead.
    • Articulating and interrogating client needs based on brand and business strategy, ensuring ongoing engagement with clients around their business needs.
    • Using research to create original and innovative insights and providing high-quality interpretation of research findings.
    • Understanding commercial context of brand communication and measuring effectiveness.
    • Liaising with strategic counterparts at partner agencies to ensure alignment and understanding of the strategy.
    • Developing and presenting compelling strategies to clients, providing relevant target market insights across various consumer categories.
    • Providing input into optimising the customer experience and ensuring brand consistency.
    • Constantly monitoring campaigns and projects to ensure adherence to the set strategic direction.
    • Leading and presenting the outcome of strategic work for new business pitches.

    Qualifications and experience required:

    • 10+ years of marketing/brand/consulting communication experience.
    • Relevant marketing/communications diploma/degree.
    • Hands-on experience with online marketing tools and practices.
    • Strong understanding of media strategy and planning.
    • Experience in developing, managing and presenting solutions within a creative environment.
    • Proven ability to create cross-channel and content strategies.
    • FMCG experience and African experience.
