    Description

    Purpose of the Internship: The Organization is committed to youth skills development by providing graduates who have completed bachelor's degree in law with an opportunity to gain work experience. Applications are invited for an internship from unemployed graduates between the age of 18 and 23. The internship program will run for a period of eighteen (18) months. The interns will be located at the State Attorney Office in Johannesburg.

    Work based exposure may include the following:

    • Interns will be given practical workplace structured training and on the job training and development, this will be combined with the theoretical training already acquired
    • Administration work
    • Drafting of correspondence, pleadings, affidavits, notices, applications
    • Practical Application of court rules in practice
    • Observation of, and assistance given to, State Attorneys when appearing in Court
    • Support State Attorney in litigation and dispute resolution
    • Filing notices
    • Service of documents and Notices to Plaintiff Attorneys
    • Judgement monitoring and case outcomes reporting
    • Attendance of and upskilling with continuous learning professional development programs (i.e. LEAD and Lexis Nexis)
    • Filing Bills of Costs upon receipt
    • Provide support to oppose Taxations
    • Preparations for appearance and appear before the Taxing Master
    • Filing of outcomes and uploading on LMS
    • Uploading to, and maintenance of, Caselines profiles (region specific to Pretoria and Johannesburg)

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Certified Grade 12/ NQF 4 level certificates
    • Certified B Degree in Law/LLB
    • Certified copy of your ID
    • Certified copy of Academic transcript (Applications with no transcript will be eliminated)
    • Your CV and motivational letter
