    Description

    Job Title: Junior Injection Moulding Setter

    Our client is a leader in the tool-making and injection moulding industries, focusing on technical components and assemblies for various sectors, including electronics, consumer goods, lighting, medical devices, and agriculture.

    We are passionate about developing local manufacturing capabilities and nurturing talent to support this endeavour. We seek an enthusiastic individual to fill the role of junior injection moulding setter.

    To succeed in this position, the candidate must possess knowledge of injection moulding and polymer technology, as well as excellent teamworking skills.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Machine Operation: Assist the shift with operating injection moulding machines, ancillary equipment, and automated assembly machines.
    • Maintenance and Repair: Ensure machinery safety by regularly checking maintenance logs and collaborating with the Maintenance Department to address any issues or make temporary repairs.
    • Process Optimization: Modify processes when necessary to achieve maximum production rates and quality standards.
    • Culture and Communication: Adhere to company culture and employee practices, communicate effectively with management, production planning, Quality Department, Toolroom, Maintenance, other team members, and shifts regarding tool changes, settings, operating procedures, and general running requirements.
    • Tool Changes and Settings: Perform tool changes/settings and apply ancillaries according to production needs.
    • Test Runs: Conduct test runs with completed tools and dies.
    • Ancillary Experience: Possess adequate experience with ancillaries such as material feed systems, masterbatch dosing, chillers, mould heaters, pick and place robotic systems, granulators, conveyors, etc.
    • Raw Material Knowledge: Demonstrate plastics raw material knowledge (handling, processing, etc.).
    • Interim Repairs: Perform safe interim repairs in the absence of Maintenance and the Toolroom.
    • Environment and Training: Maintain a safe, healthy, clean, and tidy environment for yourself and others, complete training when required, and perform any other reasonable tasks assigned by the Supervisor, Team Leader, senior managers.


    Candidate Requirements:

    • Matric Pass: A minimum requirement.
    • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the field.
    • Learnership: A completed Plastics SA NQF level 3 or above learnership is advantageous.
    • Attitude and Work Ethic: Positive attitude, good work ethic, and strong teamwork skills are essential.
    • Valid Driver's License: Required.
    • Plastics Raw Material Knowledge: Essential for success in this role.

    Salary: R250,000 - R350,000 per annum.
