    Description

    Job Title: Data Engineer - SAP BW

    The role of a Data Engineer is to design, develop and maintain cutting-edge reporting solutions within our data landscape. The position requires expertise in data modelling, HANA integration, and SAP modules.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • SAP BW Object Development: Design, develop and test SAP BW objects including data sources, Advanced DSOs, Composite Providers, transformations, DTP's and queries to meet technical specifications, business requirements and user sign-off.
    • Data Modelling: Model the SAP BW system using the LSA methodology.
    • HANA Calculation Views: Develop HANA Calculation Views with integration to SAP BW.
    • End-to-End BI Solutions: Design and build end-to-end BI solutions that extract data from multiple systems.
    • Proof-of-Concept Prototypes: Develop proof-of-concept prototypes with fast iteration and experimentation.
    • Project Integration: Work on projects to integrate data from various internal systems and cloud platforms, including analysis, planning, testing, and release phases.
    • Design Documentation: Develop and maintain design documentation, test cases, performance and monitoring and performance evaluation.
    • Data Warehouse Process Chains: Support existing data warehouse process chains and associated models, queries, CDS Views etc.
    • Maintenance Routines: Coordinate, support and test for regular maintenance routines - service pack upgrades, storage migration, site switches etc.
    • Business Requirements: Work closely with business customers, Business Analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive analysis and design of quality technical solutions.
    • Ad-Hoc Duties: Perform ad-hoc duties as required by management.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data & Analytics Management, Supply Chain, Information Services, or related discipline.
    • Experience: At least 5 - 7 years' experience with SAP Business Warehouse (BW) is required.
    • Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing Concepts: Strong understanding of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing concepts.
    • Data Modelling: Extensive knowledge in data modelling, particularly based on the BW/4HANA concept.
    • SAP BW Modelling: Experience in SAP BW Modelling, Extraction and Report Design, Query Designer and SAP Business Objects tool.
    • ABAP Coding: Knowledge in BW related ABAP coding (Badi enhancements, start/end/expert routines, CMOD Exit for custom variables).
    • SAP Modules: Strong working knowledge of SAP modules including Finance, Supply Chain, Sales & Distribution and Plant Maintenance.
    • Multi-Business Stakeholders: Experience working with and coordinating multi-business stakeholders and business owners in a retail environment.
