The role

As a Senior Environmental Consultant you will manage and implement a range of medium to large projects in Africa.

In fulfilling this role you will be responsible for managing environmental impact assessment processes and reporting, public and stakeholder participation, authority consultation and project administration. You should also be able to undertake site audits as part of a due diligence process.

About you

You should demonstrate knowledge of project management (methodology, proposal/report compilation, budget control, timely completing of project, write-offs presentation skills etc.), have the ability to network with clients, problem solve where appropriate, working as part of a team as well as independently.

Additional requirements include:
Experience in an environmental consultancy
B.Sc. (Hons) or Master's in environmental or Natural sciences or similar qualification
Must be able to proactively manage elements of an EIA project, liaise with clients, specialists and authorities, manage quality assurance/client feedback and ensure he/she meets budgetary, quality, safety and timeframe targets
Must have a sound knowledge of environmental legislation and the EIA process
Must be able to sustain client and stakeholder relationships
Must be able to manage elements of EIA projects
Must have worked on projects within South Africa
Mining experience would be beneficial.

With excellent English speaking and communication skills, any additional languages would be advantageous and an understanding of multi-disciplinary issues of projects in a variety disciplines / sectors would be highly beneficial, along with the ability to hold / gain a relevant valid driver's license
