Job Title: FINANCE BUSINESS PARTNER - DURBAN - KWAZULU NATAL

Key performance areas

  • Work closely with the site Finance Managers in order to provide support, achieve and measure performance, and implement best practice.
  • Drive best practice and a culture of continuous improvement in FP&A through Finance BP KPI development and tracking
  • Prepare and design new reporting models with process driven CI methodology to improve presentation and level of data analytics
  • Review the monthly performance and monitor against Strategic KPIs, providing insights to Exco and Senior Management
  • Implement standardized business processes and reporting templates where applicable
  • Support the site Finance Managers in preparation and compilation of client strategic financial plan
  • Ensure Finance is at the heart of the decisionmaking process, bringing rigor to the evaluation and implementation of value
- enhancing decisions.

  • Bring financial understanding to business decisions by ensuring alternatives are thoroughly evaluated and the optimum decision is taken
  • Develop a good understanding of cost drivers and identify opportunities for optimizing profitability, managing costs down and more costeffective route to market
  • Focus on streamlining processes and evolving reporting to suit the specific requirements of the business over time
  • Consolidate P&L forecasting and budgeting including causals, analysis, and insightful management reporting in a standardized format for the function
  • Provide relevant, understandable information, insight, and challenge to functional teams
  • Lead on projects to deliver the function's strategy
  • Undertake appropriate benchmarking and market analysis
  • Support and review site Cost to Serve Model and present key insights to Functional Head, for decision making
  • Support and review Product Costing Models (input to Cost to Serve) on a quarterly basis
  • Assist in preparation of IRR and Capital Viability models to support strategic decision making
  • Review the monthly TCOL and present any key insights for decision making
  • Prepare profit impacts for changes in cost drivers and macro assumptions for presentation to Functional Head
  • Obtain an understanding of the Operating and Manufacturing Model and ensure alignment to the Bill of Materials
  • Ensure the standard costing methodology is in line with Group Policy and IFRS
  • Review monthly variances to standard costing and obtain reasons for key variances from Site Finance Manager
  • Prepare monthly stock valuation journal for review, reflecting variance to latest forecast
  • Prepare functional performance report (production and sales), identifying key variances to latest estimates
  • Review the Biological assets valuation and Root Depreciation Models for reasonableness and trace to supporting documentation
  • Ensure SASA Sugar Industry proceeds and related transactions are accurate
  • Notify Treasury of funding requirements for SASA outward and incoming funds
  • Prepare all sugar industry related journal entries for review
  • Update all sugar industry related models
  • Manage the SASA Season end AUP process with external auditors and SASA Finance team
  • Submit all mandatory information, per SASA timetable
  • Ensure all SASA rules are implemented and complied with
  • Obtain an understanding of the Sugar Industry Agreement, Main Principles Document and other relevant SASA documentation
Minimum specifications / requirement areas

  • CA(SA) / CIMA / CTA
  • 35 years' experience working in Finance function
  • Strong business analysis skills and a deep understanding of the company business and value chain
  • Exceptional accounting and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work with people at various levels of the business.
  • Strong bias towards customer service excellence
