Requirements:


  • 3year tertiary quali cation Environmental Health
  • Valid registration with the Health Professions Council of South
Africa for Independent Practice

  • Valid Code B driver's licence
  • Prepared to work on weekends and at night if required
Key Performance Areas

  • Accountability for Environmental Health functions (including Water
Quality Management, Food Control, Health Surveillance of

premises, Environmental Pollution Control, Vector Control,

Surveillance & Prevention of Communicable Diseases, Disposal of

the Dead, Chemical Safety and Waste Management).

  • Enforcing legislation, Council policies and bylaws relevant to
environmental health

  • Collection, analysis and dissemination of data and information as it
relates to Environmental Health

  • Develop Environmental health protocols as it relates to
emergencies, epidemics and operations

  • Assessing and ensuring proper management of environmental
health education programs

  • Maintain and record statistics, draft correspondence and reports as
it relates to Environmental Health activities
