Requirements:

3year tertiary quali cation Environmental Health
Valid registration with the Health Professions Council of South

Africa for Independent Practice

Valid Code B driver's licence
Prepared to work on weekends and at night if required

Key Performance Areas

Accountability for Environmental Health functions (including Water

Quality Management, Food Control, Health Surveillance of

premises, Environmental Pollution Control, Vector Control,

Surveillance & Prevention of Communicable Diseases, Disposal of

the Dead, Chemical Safety and Waste Management).

Enforcing legislation, Council policies and bylaws relevant to

environmental health

Collection, analysis and dissemination of data and information as it

relates to Environmental Health

Develop Environmental health protocols as it relates to

emergencies, epidemics and operations

Assessing and ensuring proper management of environmental

health education programs

Maintain and record statistics, draft correspondence and reports as

it relates to Environmental Health activities
