Overview:
Barrs Pharmaceuticals Industries, a key player in the Avacare Health Group, is actively seeking a dynamic and experienced Mechanical Technician to contribute to the efficient operation of our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
As a crucial member of our operations department, the Mechanical Technician will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of machinery and equipment, upholding the highest standards of quality, compliance, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Collaborate with the maintenance and production teams to ensure optimal performance of machinery and minimize downtime.
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks to enhance equipment reliability and longevity.
- Assist in the implementation of upgrades and modifications to improve equipment efficiency.
- Work closely with the Facilities and Maintenance department to address mechanical issues promptly.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhere to safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
- Participate in crossfunctional teams to optimize production efficiency and quality.
Desired Experience, Qualifications, and Attributes:
- Diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of handson experience as a Mechanical Technician in pharmaceutical manufacturing, FMCG or a similar regulated industry.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, including solid dosage forms, liquids, and packaging equipment.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
- Strong attention to detail and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work shifts as and when required.
