    The Role

    This service is rendered to Sandvik clients (internal and external). This position is for a Productivity Partner at Booysendal Mine to partner with relevant stakeholders on challenges regarding safety and reliability through best practices across the Booysendal Complex.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist stakeholders in achieving high equipment availability, reliability, and productivity through improved maintenance and operation practices to reduce the equipment's total cost of ownership.
    • Improve MTBF (mean time before failure) and/or reduce MTTR (mean time to repair) by supporting the maintenance schedule, parts selection and inventory forecasting, technical coaching and training, and equipment health checks.
    • Coordinate with machine down support and customer assistance programs as necessary with Sandvik.
    • This position requires ample time spent per site, starting up a performance contract or completing a specific project.
    • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, lead by example, show passion for maintaining equipment, share equipment knowledge, and work according to Sandvik standards and procedures.

    Your Profile:

    • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
    • Tertiary Diploma in engineering/operations field (advantageous).
    • Trade Certificate of Competence in Diesel Mechanic, Auto Electrical, Millwright, Mechanical Fitter, accompanied by proof of apprenticeship, Portfolio of evidence, or Transcript.
    • Minimum 3 years' experience working as a Field Service Technician/managing performance contracts/supervising maintenance crews.
    • Basic computer literacy.
    • English proficiency.
    • Valid driver's license.
    • Full physical and medical certificate to work in a mining environment.
    • Product specialist in Sandvik equipment range.

    Experience In:

    • Maintenance of earth-moving equipment.
    • Underground and open cast mining environment.
    • Sandvik equipment knowledge.
    • Field service and performance contract involvement.
