  • Prepare monthend journals and reporting integrating to the financial system. (including preparation/distribution of detailed reports, e.g expense claims, overtime, leave balances, head count, and month end reports)
  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of the monthly payroll for approximately 500+ employees on the payroll system (This includes the entire cycle of payroll processing from capturing of new employees, terminations, overtime, travel reimbursement, salary advances etc.)
  • Payroll review before submission to performance leader for approval
  • Reconcile the payroll figures at the end of each month ensuring that all payroll control accounts are balanced and posted to the general ledger before the payroll is finalized
  • Completion and distribution of 3 rd party payment schedules as per relevant deadlines
  • Capturing of SARS information of Efiling (e.g. monthly EMP20'1, IRP5's and tax directives)
  • Liase with 3rd party regarding payments queries e.g. provident fund and medical aid etc.
  • Preparation of monthly 3rd party payments as per relevant deadlines
  • Develop and maintain appropriate payroll processes and procedures to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
    Inherent Requirements

Minimum Skills required.

  • Relevant Payroll/Finance qualification or equivalent;
  • 5 Years experience of working in a similar role (500+ employees) with different contract arrangements in a multisite environment
  • At least 3 Years experience of Sage People 300 system is essential
  • Working knowledge of appropriate legislative and regulatory requirements is needed
  • Computer literate in MS office suit (advanced excel)
  • Must have own car and valid driver's license.

  • Must be able to work after normal working hours as and when required.
