    Job Title: USED/ PRE-OWNED VEHICLE SALES MANAGER

    We have an exciting and potentially lucrative opportunity available for a Used Car Sales Manager at our dealership in Polokwane.

    The Used Car Sales Manager is responsible for sourcing and buying stock, handling evaluations and trade-ins, and working closely with the sales team to close deals and ensure customer satisfaction.

    The Sales Manager must be competent in managing the Used Cars sales team, maximizing sales and profitability to achieve dealer targets and sales forecast commitments.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Sourcing and buying stock to meet sales requirements.
    • Maximizing sales and profitability through customer satisfaction and retention.
    • Developing the necessary sales organization to meet sales and profitability objectives.
    • Ensuring cost control within the department.
    • Maintaining product display material.
    • Reviewing pricing policies, discounts, and trade-in dealings to maintain dealership profitability.
    • Monitoring financial performance of the sales department weekly.
    • Addressing customer complaints timeously and effectively.
    • Ensuring vehicle delivery according to OEM quality and safety standards.
    • Meeting customer satisfaction and expectation targets.
    • Managing direct and indirect costs within Company parameters.
    • Providing new model launch training for Sales Executives.
    • Establishing staffing levels and required training to achieve sales objectives.
    • Monitoring floorplan activities.
    • Maintaining stock levels within company policy requirements.
    • Maximizing back-end product sales.

    Requirements:

    • A minimum of 5 years vehicle sales experience within the motor vehicle industry.
    • Relevant experience in used car sales is essential.
    • A track record of accurate vehicle valuations, setting, and adjusting pricing is essential.
    • Prior experience in a sales management role is preferred.
    • A previous successful track record in sales is required.
    • A solid track record of sourcing and buying stock, and evaluating vehicles, is required.
    • Sales compliance management experience is required.

    Qualifications:

    • Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
    • A relevant tertiary qualification NQF6+ (e.g. sales/marketing/business management) qualification – an added advantage.

    Other Requirements:

    • A valid, unendorsed driver's license and ability to drive competently and legitimately.
    • Computer literacy: MS Office and dealer lead management system.
    • Knowledge of dealership policies and procedures.
    • Knowledge of the competitive motor industry.

    Skills and Personal Attributes:

    • Communication (spoken and written business communication).
    • Interpersonal skills (building rapport).
    • Sales management and marketing skills, knowledge, and experience in the retail automotive context are necessary.
