    Description

    Development Manager

    We are seeking an experienced Development Manager to lead our IT Systems Development team in Fourways. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and prioritizing development tasks, deploying resources efficiently, and allocating workloads effectively.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Strategic Roadmap: Define and maintain a roadmap to facilitate application software development, aligning with business objectives.
    • Innovative Solutions: Develop innovative solutions by integrating and analyzing complex information sources, driving business value and growth.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with business and IT stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
    • Team Motivation: Communicate the function's strategy and motivate the team to deliver exceptional results.
    • Tactical Planning: Develop tactical plans for optimizing resources, ensuring efficient use of time and talent.
    • Performance Management: Manage team performance, set objectives, and take corrective action to ensure continuous improvement.
    • Research and Analysis: Conduct research using primary data sources and analyze key themes and trends to inform strategic decisions.
    • Capability Development: Evaluate staff capabilities, identify gaps, and prioritize development activities to enhance team performance.
    • Project Delivery: Plan and manage project delivery using appropriate project management methodology, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
    • Develop existing applications and contribute to the development of new applications, leveraging technical expertise and innovation.
    • Purposeful Learning: Develop own capabilities through training and development, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
    • Technology and Compliance: Maintain an in-depth understanding of technology, regulations, and best practices, monitoring performance and behaviors to ensure compliance.
    • Security Measures: Implement and provide input on security measures, protecting sensitive information and ensuring data integrity.

    Requirements:

    • Education: Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
    • Degree or Diploma: Degree or Diploma in Information Technology.
    • Experience: 6+ years of system development experience using GIT, with previous experience in the Financial Insurance industry.
    • Resource Planning: 3-6 years of experience in planning and managing resources, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization.
