SPECIALIST WRITER AND EDITOR

JOHANNESBURG

12 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTARCT

SALARY - R TCTC gross per annum)

Overview:

The specialist writer will be responsible to research, write copy, edit and proof read copy for internal and external marketing and communication programmes of the organisation. The specialist writer will also be responsible to engage all subsidiaries of the company and identify news worthy content that can be created for various marketing and communication platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Meet with the divisions and identify and brainstorm ideas based on communication deliverables of each programme.
Write content for other digital channels such as ecommerce offerings and digital chat snippets.
Write content for our various website pages in coordination with our marketing product team.
Research industryrelated topics (combining online sources, interviews, and studies) to support your writing.
Follow up on the translation and localization process making sure the message is delivered correctly.
Work with the graphic design team to pair your content with visuals.
Identify customers' needs and gaps in our content and recommend new topics.
Ensure allaround consistency (style, fonts, images, and tone).
Manage the content messaging for campaigns and ensure the design, layout, and delivery correlate with copy/content
Edit grammar and proofread all content for public dissemination (create processes that help nonwriters easily access and implement accurate messaging.)

Relevant Requirements:

Bdegree in Communication, Copywriting, Marketing, English, or a related field.
You must be a native or fully bilingual English speaker with excellent writing and editing skills.
CV must shows work experience as a Content Writer, Copywriter, or similar role for 5 years or longer.
Submit a portfolio showcasing your writing across a variety of platforms.
Strong editing and writing skills

This role requires a strong command of grammar and style
Ability to translate a wide range and large volume of complex information into simple, accurate, clear, consistent and compelling messages.
Ability to work to tight deadlines and to prioritise effectively
