Description

A 4-star hotel located in the heart of Cape Town is seeking a skilled and experienced Sculler to join their team.

Responsibilities:

Maintaining the cleanliness of the hotel's kitchen and dining areas
Operating and maintaining cleaning equipment and tools, including the dish washing machine, hand wash stations, potscrubbing station, and trash compactor
Washing and disinfecting kitchen and store room areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
Receiving deliveries, storing perishables properly, and rotating stock
Ensuring clean wares are stored in appropriate areas
Using detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals in the 3compartment sink to clean dishes
Inspecting, pulling, and stacking cleaned items
Racking and spraying all racked items with hot water to loosen and remove food residue
Sorting, soaking, and washing/rewashing silverware
Breaking down dirty bus tubs
Emptying and maintaining trashcans and dumpster area
Cleaning and mopping all areas in assigned departments
Disposing of glass in the proper containers
Breaking down cardboard boxes and placing them and other recyclables in the recycle bin

Requirements:

A minimum of 1 year experience as a Sculler in a fastpaced hospitality environment
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude in a busy work environment
Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
