    Overview

    Responsible for overseeing employees and daily operations within the Manufacturing environment, while ensuring provision of excellent maintenance and reliability. Maintain strong relationships with internal customers and third-party suppliers. Oversee and manage the planning, integrity, compliance, and performance of people and plant assets. Ensure system of controls in the reliability and maintainability of equipment, financial and other processes.

    Qualifications

    BSc / B. Eng Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
    Project Management Qualification will be an advantage.

    Experience

    5 – 10 Years' Management experience within a Chemical Manufacturing environment (Pressure Vessels, Piping and Ancillaries)
    3 - 5 Years' people management experience
    3 – 5 Years' Contract/SLA Management Experience.
    Experience in Maintenance Planning
    Experience in Rotating Equipment
    Experience in Risk-Based Inspection Methodologies.
    Project Management Experience
    Maintenance Strategy Development & Implementation Experience
    Previous appointment as a GMR 2.7. will be an advantage

    Duties

    Human Relations:

    • Ensure Statutory compliance in relation to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

    • Develop and provide input to Risk Management Plans to mitigate risks that could adversely impact safety of personnel and plant operations.

    OHS Act Compliance:

    • Ensure Statutory compliance in relation to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

    • General Machinery Regulation (GMR 2.7) appointment

    Responsibility for asset capability:

    • Optimisation of assets

    • Asset Life Cycle Decision Making

    • Manage Asset Reliability

    • Monitor equipment performance.

    • Coordination of maintenance service.

    • Supervision of Maintenance Contracts.

    • Spares Management.

    Legal Compliance:

    • Design review and approval of new installations, modifications and improvements.

    • Review of statutory requirements and compliance.

    • Application of applicable National and International standards.

    • Manage technical records in accordance to internal and legal requirements.

    Financial Management and Control:

    • Cost management and optimisation.

    • CAPEX & OPEX Budget development and motivation.

    • Maintenance and adherence to company financial controls.

    • Track the production losses and abnormally high maintenance cost of assets

    Maintenance Strategy Development & Control:

    • Develop, implement, and control plant and equipment specific maintenance strategies.

    • Develop and enhance asset capability and maintenance quality to improve attainment of production targets.

    • Develop systems, procedures, and processes to enable and improve reliability of plant and enhance compliance.

    • Align activities, roles, and responsibilities within a world class (manufacturing) environment by connecting processes, principles, and practices to achieve required efficiencies.

    • Assist with criticality review of spare parts.

    • Work with Project Engineering or external parties to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.

    • Develop plans to eliminate or reduce the losses through root cause analysis and facilitate the implementation of actions.

    • Manage contractors for applicable outsourced services

    • Develop and maintain equipment criticality database. Ensure alignment with Manufacturing risk profile.

    • Plan and Project Manage Plant shutdowns to ensure attainments of targets.

    • Manage unplanned downtime to ensure maximum equipment availability.

    • Ensure a systematic understanding of production requirements
