    We are looking for a SENIOR ENGINEERING MANAGER in Middelburg, Mpumalanga

    The incumbent will be a Senior level member of our regional service engineering team, responsible for managing the engineering team, and leading assigned projects and tasks, by driving or participating in regular customer-facing technical engagements, technical strategy, innovation, trouble shooting and root cause analysis, and continuous improvement. The role is essential to the success of the organization and must possess a range of technical, strong human interface and leadership skills, as well as business and commercial acumen to excel in this role.

    Essential Functions:


    • Engineering Manager

    o Possessed a broad knowledge of controls, power conversion, automation, data analytics and their application to the industries, equipment and customers that we serve.

    o Well-versed in problem-solving, RCA and project management principles from training and experience.

    o Actively assist in promoting our Service Engineering, and selling to customers, partners, and others.

    o Play a critical role in defining the overall product and growth strategy, by partnering with Business Development and Product Management.

    o Demonstrates proficiency in planning and managing departmental budgets and project costs.

    o Execute work in effective and efficient ways to best serve customers and attain corporate regional and goals.

    o Key contact for Corporate R&D teams, globally.


    • Education:

    o Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, Power, Software, Physics or Computer Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience from e.g. UP, UCT, Wits, Stellenbosch.

    o Master's of Science or Business Administration a plus.


    • Experience:

    o >10 years of engineering experience.

    o >15 years of industry and related experience.

    o 10 years of experience in electric machines, drives, controls and/or systems.

    o Extensive and up to date knowledge in drives, controls and/or rotating electric machines.

    o Knowledge and experience in industrial and/or machine control theory.

    o Experience with mining machine systems applications including but not limited to electric mining shovels, draglines, haul trucks, rotary blast hole drills, and hydraulic excavators.

    o Demonstrated experience in managing the product lifecycle of systems and products.

    o Demonstrated success with the ability to identify key customer requirements and translate them into detailed product specifications for multi-generational products.

    o Leverageable experience with engineering tools and systems, including simulators, modeling, virtual prototyping and statistical analysis.

    o Good ability to work with business ERP system.
