Job Title: Financial Planner - Bloemfontein

Located in Free State, Bloemfontein.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clients with professional financial advice and planning to meet their needs.
• Acquire new and sustainable business through high-quality sales that align with company targets.
• Maintain and service long-term client relationships for loyalty and ongoing sales.
• Ensure compliance and ethics in all client interactions to build the Sanlam Group business and brand.

Sales and Growth:

• Commit to marketing plans and targets to grow the business as set by the distribution strategy.
• Apply knowledge of market segmentation and customer profiles to support sales and growth within the defined market.

Networking and Lead Generation:

• Foster face-to-face interactions to create business opportunities.
• Prospect new clients through creative means such as social networks or presentations.
• Convert trusted relationships into business relationships.
• Strengthen existing relationships by increasing service levels.
• Use existing sources to establish opportunities across Sanlam businesses.
• Create personalized client value propositions.
• Utilize social media for marketing.
• Generate leads and prospecting opportunities through client-focused activities.
• Analyze the existing client base to identify marketing gaps and sales opportunities.
• Implement focused campaigns with new or existing clients in the defined market.
• Request active and ongoing leads and referrals from others.
• Monitor and respond to client activities within the defined market.

Client Consultations and Sales:

• Ensure all client interactions are compliant and provide written information as required.
• Conduct comprehensive fact-finding with each client to understand their needs and priorities.
• Undertake a financial needs analysis using relevant tools to ascertain the client's full financial situation.
• Provide sound personal financial planning advice.
• Present financial solutions to the client in a professional manner aligned to Treating Customers Fairly.
• Review clients' portfolios annually by undertaking the above steps.

Client Service:

• Ensure all client interactions are ethical, courteous, and professional.
• Follow up on existing business queries in a timely manner.
• Strive for excellent, value-added service to prevent clients from seeking competitor products or services.
• Continuously learn about knowledge, skills, and market issues to better serve clients.
• Initiate long-term client relationships and maintain a relational focus.

Monitoring and Reporting:

Document and present the following activities:

• Contact and consultation records.
• Issued business and revenue against targets.
• Updated client details on records.
• Workflow and activity monitor system entries.

Qualification and Experience:

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Successful completion of the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS) 'Fit and Proper' requirements and Regulatory Examination if registered with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) for more than 24 months.
• Experience in sales, retail, or business development roles.
