Description

DUTIES:

Ensure Buyers complete the required Purchasing activities within the required time frame as per assigned methodology.
Daily order release,

Order management

Expediting, Defer, Cancel of Orders
Vendor management vendor schedules & delivery schedules
Mentor and coach Buyers to ensure demonstrated understanding and compliance.
Audit and monitor Buyer activities and report on progress daily, weekly and monthly.
Identify process and Buyer improvement opportunities, get agreement and buyin on corrective action.
Identify static data misalignment, propose solutions, implement where necessary and monitor outcome.
Track airfreight spent and applied best practice to drive airfreight cost down
Identify workload imbalance amongst all team members and propose solutions to Purchasing Manager

REQUIREMENTS:

NQF 6 qualification in Purchasing / Supply Chain Management / Logistics or in final year.
Solid understanding of SAP MRP, ERP, DMP, IM.
Minimum of 5 years of National and International spares purchasing / sourcing experience within the earthmoving, heavy equipment, manufacturing, or Automotive environment.
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory and Team leader experience
Solid understanding of how Forwarding agents and shipping lines work.
PC literate including Advanced Excel, Graphs, Pivot tables, BIreports
Strong business sense
Strong negotiating and persuasion skills
Excellent in building and maintaining relationships with excellent communication skills at all levels with a good command in English.
Must be able to meet deadlines and have a sense of urgency.
Proven problem solving ability with accurate numerological skills.
Must be able to work independently in a highly pressurised and fast paced environment
