    Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer with expertise in Transmission and Transformers, specifically in high-voltage systems (765KV).

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Transmission System Design & Analysis: Design and develop electrical transmission systems, including 765kV high-voltage transmission lines, substations, and transformer stations.
    • Perform detailed electrical load flow, short circuit analysis, and stability studies for power transmission and transformer systems.
    • Develop specifications and standards for high-voltage equipment (e.g., circuit breakers, transformers, conductors).
    • Transformer Design & Management: Lead the design, installation, and testing of 765kV transformers, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
    • Manage the maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of transformer systems and related equipment.
    • Oversee the operation and technical evaluation of transformer performance, ensuring optimal functionality.
    • Project Management: Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and other engineers to ensure successful project execution and delivery within timelines.
    • Monitor the installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical systems in accordance with design specifications.
    • Lead or assist in the preparation of project documentation, including design reports, risk assessments, and safety procedures.
    • System Integration & Testing: Ensure seamless integration of transformers and transmission systems into existing infrastructure.
    • Supervise the testing and commissioning of new transformer installations and 765kV transmission systems.
    • Conduct detailed diagnostic testing and troubleshooting to resolve any issues with transformer systems and high-voltage transmission equipment.
    • Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all designs, installations, and operations comply with national and international standards, codes, and regulations (such as IEEE, IEC, ANSI).
    • Conduct safety assessments and ensure that all electrical work is carried out safely and in compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
    • Client & Stakeholder Interaction: Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project requirements are understood and met.
    • Provide technical consultations regarding high-voltage transmission and transformer solutions.

    Key Requirements:

    • Minimum 5 years working in the design office doing substation designs. Substation capacity ranging from 33kV to 765kV. Proven track record.
    • Spec Transmission/Transformers exp 765KV

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum BEng in electrical engineering.
    • The candidate needs to be registered with ECSA as an electrical engineer.
