    Description

    Technical Support Specialist

    This role assists senior technicians and support engineers in attending to all day-to-day technical inquiries within the branch, ensuring adequate technical skills are available to support customers in after-sales service.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Respond to customer technical support requests via electronic or telephonic means
    2. Travel to local, national, and international locations to:
      1. Assist in commissioning new systems
      2. Diagnose faulty equipment
      3. Troubleshoot other issues
    3. Support senior support engineers with their cases
    4. Provide technical information to sales consultants
    5. Troubleshoot faulty equipment
    6. Process warranty claims
    7. Liaise with factories and suppliers on technical matters
    8. Create technical documentation for new products
    9. Attend supplier training as required
    10. Collaborate with national tech support staff:
      1. Improve systems
      2. Share knowledge to resolve issues
      3. Investigate and document potential serial issues
      4. Support R+D department in product development
      5. Meet regularly to discuss tech support issues
      6. Document activities in the company CRM

    Requirements:

    1. Matric/NQF4 equivalent or higher qualification
    2. Electrical qualification or wireman's license (advantageous)
    3. At least 1-2 years of technical support experience in electrical/power and critical reserve power environments
    4. Other relevant diploma
    5. Valid driver's license and own vehicle

    Personal Attributes:

    1. High computer literacy and proficiency in basic technical aspects of common operating systems
    2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    3. Ability to provide excellent customer service
    4. Strong time management, organizational, and follow-through skills
    5. Attention to detail and ability to see the bigger picture
    6. Quick response and accurate problem-solving
    7. Creative outlook and self-motivation

    Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum
