PRIMARY SCOPE:

Reporting to the Production Foreman you will be responsible for the following:

Work through his subordinates to achieve departmental goals and objectives by effectively utilizing all available resources.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Lead a team from various departments
Establish daily, weekly, and monthly objective and communicate them to employees
Manage the workflow by assigning responsibilities, Guide, and coach employees, monitor their productivity/ performance.
Support Quality, to ensure that the product meets the customers' expectations
Coordinate production scheduling on shift to meet customer demands, manage overtime, to minimize inventory and to reduce costs
Identify the cause of deviation and implement a course of action to resolve problem
Set and measure performance standards of quality, outputs, time, cost, waste and safety etc.
Determine and discuss all departmental targets with the production manager
Build and maintain productive employee relationships
Identify critical projects to improve operational performance
Full understanding of design and production costs to include waste, downtime, scrap and rework
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills and able to establish logical practical solution
Coordinate all production activities to the best of his/her ability and in the interest of the business
Conduct incidents, accident and nonconformity investigation and associated reporting and action closure
Make decisions with regards to operational requirements.
Ensure that all HACCP and GMP principles are enforced and maintained.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Matric/ Supervisory qualification
Diploma in production management or relevant
510 years' experience as a supervisor within a fastpaced Manufacturing operation preferrable with food manufacturing background.
Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel)
ISO 14001 / 22000 will be required
Previous experience in the printing sector would be advantageous
Syspro would be advantageous
