Finsch Diamond Mine is located in the town of Lime Acres, which is situated 160km north west of Kimberley and 109km south of
Kuruman in the Northern Cape.

B3

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Surveyor / Survey Coordinator,
the role will be responsible to assist with surface and

underground surveying activities and accountable for the operational condition including maintenance and cleanliness and availability
of survey equipment.

The position is required for the Mining Expansion Project.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide support to Surveyor by carrying out basic survey functions.

Installation of survey control points both underground and surface.

Perform underground laser line installations.

Conduct laser (LiDAR) scans

Responsible for basic underground and surface surveys and to perform accurate measurements.

Responsible for the upkeep of survey equipment (i.e. cleaning of survey equipment daily and ensure its availability).

Basic GPS operation and to acquire accurate GPS measurements.

Responsible for basic downloading and storage of survey data into CAD.

Assist / perform risk assessments (General and Mini).

Comply with company Safety, Health and Environment standards, procedures and COPs. Report non-compliance to
supervisor.

Adhere to company policies and procedures. Report non-compliance to supervisor.

Perform general housekeeping duties according to departmental requirements.

Communicate effectively with all team members.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Certificate COM Basic Survey

A minimum of 6 months mine surveying experience - preferred.

Valid driver's license

ADVANTAGE:

Certificate COM Elementary Survey

OTHER SKILLS /

COMPETENCIES:

Align laser on direction and gradient.

Use applicable survey instruments to acquire data.

Perform basic survey measuring calculations.

Transfer date from survey instruments to survey network.

Perform tunnel offsetting.

Plot measurements in CAD and manipulate CAD elements.
