The purpose of this position is actively manage and control the Planning, Materials_ a_nd Bulk dispatch departments.

The position will ensure effective bulk_ _planning_, _RAW material planning, procurement of goods_ _and transport efficiency within the supply chain of RTD's from Heineken Beverages Paarl.

Manage and control planning department Ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to

  • Ensure planning to be done on time as effective and efficient as possible
  • Report spikes to the GM
  • Feedback and interpretation of performance to PPL Manager
  • Assist logistics planner where needed.
Manage and control materials budget

  • Create the annual budget for the Materials department.
  • Manage the budget monthly in the most costeffective manner.
  • Explain variances as required.
  • Monthly reporting to finance department
RAW materials(flavours) planning & procurement

  • Effectively plan weekly 21 week. flavour requirement plan
  • Procure required flavours within the optimal lead times & MOQ's.
  • Manage shelf life of flavours.
  • Submit expired flavours for shelf life extensions.
  • Actively engage with production sites & central planning of any ingredient supply constraints that will influence bulk supply.
Procurement & Supplier engagement

  • Ensure that flavours & consumables are timeously procured.
  • Ensure the items are procured at the correct price.
  • Build great supplier relationship.
  • Hold regular meetings with suppliers.
  • Ensure that monthly flavour forecasts are sent to suppliers
Stock take

  • Manage monthly stock take of flavours & consumables
  • Investigate and report on high variances
Manage and control bulk dispatch budget

  • Create the annual budget for the bulk dispatch department.
  • Manage the budget monthly in the most cost effective manner.
  • Explain variances as required.
  • Feedback and interpretation of performance to operations manager
Manage and control bulk dispatch department

  • Daily reporting must be done and planned vs actual to the site
  • Manage, improve and control Turn around Time effectiveness.
  • Ensure that daily/weekly dispatch volumes are loaded
  • Assist dispatch team when there are transport constraints
Communication to and from Monis Secondary Production planners and HO Logistics.

  • Communicate relevant information that might influence the Supply chain.
  • Communicate the influence on Distell Paarl Monis.
Changes to plans

  • Report major changes to plans immediately to Cellar Manager and GM
  • Minimize change, implement measurement to control change.
Internal Control Checks(ICC's)

  • Perform Monthly Procurement & Material Management ICC's ISO 9001/ Food safety HACCP/ /ISO14001/FSSC / IPW
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the quality systems.
  • Member of Food safety HACCP team in that give technical advice where necessary
  • Assist with implementation of Food safety HACCP standards
  • Write procedures that are relevant to field of experience
  • Add inputs for the maintenance of the / Food safety HACCP systems
  • Participate in the food defense TACCP activities on site.
People Management

  • Manage and control hearings and consequence management of subordinates.
  • Manage leave of subordinates
  • Identify training opportunities.
  • Ensure subordinates perform work correctly.
  • Manage performance of employees using targeted KPI's
Continuous Improvement

  • Actively participate in new projects on site & NPD (New Product Development)
  • Continuously improve planning and transport systems.
  • Continuously improve planning, management & procurement of RAW materials

Requirements:


  • Degree in Logistics or relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Proven track record of working within a supply chain, logistics, warehouse, purchasing and planning management environment
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem solving abilities
  • Strong leadership capabilities and ability to manage people with diverse backgrounds.
  • Sound IR knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Excellent competency in MS Office (Advance Excel)
  • SAP
