Our client is a dynamic and energetic retail company based in Durban and Cape Town, which is on the hunt for a talented
Retail Sales Manager who has relevant Retail Sales Management experience, with a focus on the increasing sales.

You will be working directly with the Operations Team, Buyers and Directors.

This person will assist the store managers in driving the stores forward through sales and marketing ideas and initiatives and will oversee strategic retail initiatives that will support the development of growth plans and profitability goals within the Company.

Duties & Responsibilities
(Note that this is not a full job description but only a list of the main functions)Responsible for conceptualising retail marketing ideas, making evaluative judgements and developing creative concepts for the Company.
Tailoring shopper marketing campaigns according to insights from consumers.
Overseeing beginning to end multi-channel shopper marketing campaigns.
Delivering activation plans that span the entire shopper journey.
Tracking and reporting results of various in store marketing campaigns.
Special promotions implementation, display, activation - taking to the next level in store
Analyse, prepare and present reports on social media and website efforts and results as well as providing community insights and trend analyses to the team
In store execution of competitions and promotions, eg. Rewards, supplier. competitions.
Develop and execute company strategies and marketing plans that resonate with the target market that drive market share growth.
Analysis of company strategy and performance and effect changes as needed.
Accurately set annual wholesale budgets for the company and formulate plans to alleviate sales deficits.
Effective adaption of company strategies to suit the SA market and to meet the company's expectations.
Monitoring retail prices in the market to ensure the company remains competitive while at the same time monitoring brand ex-works and forex trends and formulating strategies to manage pricing effectively
Research and analyse consumer behaviour, market trends and competitor activity.

Keep abreast of emerging markets and market shifts with an awareness of new products and competition status, providing market and customer feedback.

Stay up to date with current market trends.
Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders to ensure full support of the company in the market.
Establishment of company activities (trade marketing, media, new launches etc.) to drive market share growth.

  • Sales_
Develop and execute the wholesale strategy that will drive company sales and maximise profitability.
Prospect and qualify new wholesale leads.
Schedule meetings and presentations with prospects
Create, plan, and deliver presentations on company products
Track all sales activities in the company system and keep current by updating account information regularly
Communicate customer and prospect product pain points
Maintain a well-developed pipeline of prospects
Assist Buyers with negotiate prices and terms and prepare sales agreements
Increase product sales and market share.
Achieve positive sales growths monthly and annually through the development and driving of "sell out" strategies
Monitor competitor activity and plan the appropriate response.
Responsible for achieving the agreed objectives and sales targets for the company.
Build and promote strong commercial relationships with wholesale clients by understanding their needs and objectives.
Assist in setting up and driving sales at events/launches/retailer activities.
Provide feedback on sales/customer-related issues or concerns.
Identify and implement new ideas to drive sales.
Be knowledgeable about the brands.

  • Marketing_
Build the 360° marketing plan for the company, including Consumer Engagement, Trade Marketing, PR, CRM
Set up of yearly product and promotional launch plans and calendars across the multiple brands
Plan and execute marketing initiatives, including ad campaigns, events, sponsorships and corporate social responsibility programs.
Build company awareness and increase brand value and profitability.
Create exciting and engaging graphics for social media channels and communication messages.
Development of support material for events, activations/engagement and other business development initiatives.
Planning and organising digital brand campaigns and facilitating their success.

Managing relationships with external vendors such as social media influencers to ensure high-quality and timely execution of marketing programs and to ensure competitiveness.

Design, update and distribute electronic product catalogues, display guidelines and flow cards.
Ensure that messaging and marketing activities are aligned with brand and company values.

  • Budget and Financial Management_
Establish budgets, performance specifications and sales estimates.
