Description

The Technical Manager focuses primarily on managing the technical elements of appliances through product management, maintenance management and support of the appliances in the market.

Product Management:

Work with OEMs to learn and understand product technical information pertaining to electrical, mechanical, gas, refrigeration technology.
Adopt best practices internally to ensure that OEM products are installed, maintained and supported according to global best practices from the OEM.
Develop Preventative Maintenance and Breakdown Maintenance plans.
Manage OEM product data pertaining to spec sheets, scchematics, spare parts and other digital systems for aftersales service and maintenance.
Develop best practices in conjunction with OEMs to uphold brand support and maintenance in South Africa.

Project Support:

They oversee the maintenance of technical information, product management for a wide range of equipment.
Manage details relating to site services and installation relating to equipment i.e. electrical installations, gas, water. Communicating and working with contractors and finding solutions to site installation requirements.

Team Management:

Manage and support other staff in terms of finding new market solutions for products using international product data and interpreting those data to local market needs.
Solving technical faults and maintenance of a technical nature; diagnostics. Using OEM fault finding tools, software, multimeters and tools to support technical support staff.
Working with customers to find solutions to equipment faults and failures and determining remedial action.
