Buyer/planner - Durban, South Africa - Bargain Basket Durban/Pinetown

Description

Buyer for a privately owned retail company based in Durban and Pinetown.

Buyer will be responsible for ensuring that the company selects the most appropriate goods based on price, quality, delivery times and service support.

Essential requirements:

• Matric plus a related degree or diploma
• Experience in retail buying or supply chain management
• High level of computer literacy in MS office Packages
• Planning and organizing skills
• Own vehicle
• Vehicle license

Roles and responsibilities:

• Place order with suppliers and prioritize critical order to ensure sales are not negatively impacted
• Forecasting likely levels of demand for products
• Conducting research to ascertain market trends and needs
• Develop purchasing policies and procedures
• Identifying potential suppliers and negotiate price
• Checking costs, Quality of stock and levels of services.
• Monitor stock levels

- and other reasonable general duties within skills and capabilities that may be required per operational needs.


Package & Remuneration

• R R15 000
• Pension fund

Pay:
R12 000,00 - R15 000,00 per month


Education:

• Certificate (preferred)

Experience:

- buyer or supply chain management: 3 years (required)


License/Certification:
- drivers licence (required)


Location:

• Durban, KwaZulu-Natal (preferred)
