- Design and implement end-to-end data acquisition and management solutions, including event/streaming-based data pipelines, ETL, data lakes, data warehousing, and dimensional data modeling.
- Import data into the corporate data lake/data warehouse and develop reports on data acquisition progress, regulatory, and financial accounting.
- Participate in quality assurance and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Develop a structured approach to problem-solving and delivery, with a focus on business outcomes.
- IT-related degree/diploma or Microsoft certification/cloud certification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business intelligence (SSIS, SSRS).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data warehousing (Kimball Methodology) (SSIS).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cube development (SSAS, MDX).
- Insurance industry knowledge required.
- Database technologies: SQL Server 2012 or later (database, table, view, and stored procedure creation, SQL query, SQL security).
- Exposure to cloud technologies.
- Hadoop components, including HDFS, Hive, Spark, Oozie, and Impala.
- Streaming-based data pipelines (e.g., Kafka or Nifi).
- Object-oriented/object-functional scripting languages: Python, Java, Scala, or related.
- SQL architectural experience preferable.
- Working knowledge of C# / VB.Net / VBA advantageous.
- A cost-to-company salary of R500k - R750k per annum, negotiable based on experience and ability.
