The requirements for this position are:

  • Relevant teaching qualification from a recognised institution; a post graduate qualification will be an added advantage
  • Academic experience in IEB Matric marking would be an advantage
  • Experienced in developing learning and teaching material and assessment practices according to IEB or NSC requirements and the needs of the students
  • Ability to teach isiZulu in a multilayered classroom
  • Good management skills
  • An ability to be flexible with a willingness to embrace rapid changes in education and an interest and ability to integrate IT into your teaching and learning and to progress the development of, and delivery of, online learning and assessment
  • A passion for teaching students who seek to become young men of significance in a modern world
  • An unequivocal commitment to working as part of an accomplished team and an ability to take initiative and to act decisively
  • Ability to inspire and encourage boys to seek and maintain high standards of performance
  • A willingness to participate in the broader life of the school as well as an understanding of the value of extramural participation for both staff and learners.
  • A sound and progressive understanding of the South African curriculum and international trends in education
  • A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
  • A willingness to work within the values, Christian ethos, and mission of the College
  • Proof of registration with SACE supported by a sexual offender's clearance certificate
