    Job Title: Senior Fund Accountant

    We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fund Accountant to join our client's team. As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting all operational aspects related to managing the Fund Accounting portfolio.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Verify Bank Statements and Reconciliations: Ensure that bank statements are current and that bank reconciliations are completed accurately and promptly.
    • Monitor and Manage System Controls: Monitor and manage current system controls while implementing new improvements to streamline processes and reduce risk.
    • Prepare Fund Accounts: Prepare fund accounts according to the funds accounting policies and enact modifications.
    • Coordinate with Fund Managers and Custodians: Coordinate with fund managers, brokers, and custodians to share information and address issues promptly.
    • Oversee Investments and Divestments: Oversee and manage investments and divestments in collaboration with the Investment Managers.
    • Organize Audits: Organize and manage audits to ensure they are conducted efficiently and on schedule.
    • Review Audit Files: Review audit files and working papers before submitting them to the Fund Accounting Manager.
    • Compile Member Data: Compile member data relevant to the valuation of the fund(s).
    • Identify Key Risks: Collaborate with senior management to identify all key risks and ensure they are effectively communicated to the appropriate business owners.
    • Ensure Compliance Reports: Making sure that monthly compliance reports are on-time, accurate and thoroughly reviewed internally.

    Requirements:

    • Education: BCom Accounting
    • Experience: 5 years of experience within retirement funds
