As the General Manager of an Ou Meul store, you are responsible for the smooth day to day running and for the results of the store.

You are the leaders in your business and creating a great team that is motivated is key to making you a successful manager.

You should have excellent communication skills and lots of positive energy. Having the ability to think on your feet, find solutions and act quickly is important.

People management skills should be at an excellent level with the ability to get the best out of your team whilst giving feedback and managing performance where necessary.

You will have the highest of standards when it comes to product quality and customer service. You should be able to connect with customers.

You will need to have very good knowledge of stock management, reporting, rostering, controlling labour and managing the financial side of the business.

You will need to be good at financial planning and reporting on the business results. Any experience in sales growth techniques and marketing is a big advantage.

You will need to have good experience in the kitchen and with making coffee. The role is hands-on and you will need to get involved in the operation where necessary. You will need to have the ability to work independently but be a team player.


You will need to have at least 3 years experience as a general manager of a restaurant or coffee shop.
