The Role:


Responsibilities:


  • Order materials, supplies, and ingredients based on demand
  • Supervise kitchen employees and organize food orders
  • Oversee the food preparation and cooking process
  • Train kitchen employees in designated stations
  • Monitor inventory levels and perform weekly inventory assessments
  • Work with the restaurant manager to plan, price and change menu items
  • Schedule work shifts for employees
  • Store all food products in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Ensure the kitchen is clean and organized
  • Maintain weekly and monthly cost reports
  • Order materials, supplies, and ingredients based on demand
  • Supervise kitchen employees and organize food orders
  • Oversee the food preparation and cooking process
  • Ensure the kitchen is a safe and hygienic place to work
  • Organise the inventory, storage, and distribution of foodstuff and supplies
  • Apportion ingredients and use food surpluses
  • Control portion costs by working out the number of portions per food batch
  • Ad hoc duties as requested by Management

Minimum Requirements:


  • Matric or equivalent
  • Certification from culinary school, advantageous
  • Experience with food preparation, 23 years essential
  • Experience supervising kitchens, 23 years essential
  • Display good hygiene practices
  • Indepth knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations

  • Ability to work well in a stressful and fastpaced environment
  • Excellent problemsolving and conflict management abilities
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills

Salary:
R10,000.00 per month
