    Description

    Research Director Opportunity

    The Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) is seeking a highly qualified Research Director to join its Equitable Education and Economies (EEE) division. This is a permanent contract position based in Cape Town, Sweetwaters, or Pretoria.

    The successful candidate will have a PhD in Economics or Education and extensive policy-relevant research experience. They will be responsible for leading research initiatives to transform educational outcomes and increase economic participation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead research projects to understand educational performance and improve learning outcomes
    • Interrogate social, spatial, and structural obstacles to economic participation
    • Develop and implement policy-relevant research strategies

    Requirements:

    • PhD in Economics or Education
    • Extensive policy-relevant research experience
    • Strong knowledge of economic and educational policy
