    We are seeking a skilled Cook to prepare high-quality meals and perform duties to meet the requirements and expectations of our clients.

    Feedem is a leading contract catering company in South Africa, operating over 300 sites and employing more than 5,000 people across various disciplines, including dieticians, chefs, and human capital specialists.

    We provide customized catering and services to clients across diverse industries, adhering to an ethical code and strict compliance with industry standards and regulations.

    With a nationwide presence, our head office is located in Johannesburg, and we have regional offices in Cape Town, Durban, George, Worcester, Port Elizabeth, Rustenburg, Kimberley, and Bloemfontein.

    Essential Requirements

    • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
    • Culinary training or certification will be advantageous
    • 2-5 years of experience in a Corporate, Education, hotel or restaurant kitchen environment, with a proven track record
    • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
    • Able to work effectively within a team

    Key Responsibilities

    • Liaise with Managers regarding menus and daily preparation requirements
    • Prepare, cook, and coordinate menu items for meals (vegetables, soups, desserts, and salads) according to recipe specifications and procedures
    • Ensure meals are ready and served at specified times and in the correct manner
    • Clean and wash all small equipment used in cooking
    • Keep own work area clean, including floors, tiles, work surfaces, and equipment used in preparation
    • Use equipment, materials, and cleaning agents correctly and according to instructions
    • Observe all hygiene and safety rules
    • Prepare function items when necessary
    • Ensure shifts commence on time and wear correct clean uniforms at all times
    • Carry out instructions from Managers within set time limits
    • Assist in preparing any dishes when necessary and assist in cleaning any area in the kitchen when requested

    Additional Duties:

    • Relieve and assist in other areas and departments as required
    • Attend meetings and training courses as needed
    • Adhere to Company Rules and Regulations at all times
