    Candidate Engineer: Process Control Implementation

    Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced individual to join our team as a Candidate Engineer for Process Control Implementation. The successful candidate will have expertise in advanced process control systems, specifically milling and flotation control onsite installations.

    Salary:

    R 700,000 - R 1,200,000 per annum

    Job Description:

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. FOLLOW THE LEADERSHIP AND GUIDANCE OF OTHER SCIENTISTS/ENGINEERS IN UNDERTAKING ASSIGNMENTS.
    2. ESTABLISH SPECIFICATIONS, IMPROVE WORKFLOWS, AND INTRODUCE OPERATING PROCEDURES AT PROJECT LEVEL.
    3. EXECUTE PROCESS CONTROL INSTALLATIONS UNDER SUPERVISION, BOTH LOCALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY, REQUIRING INTERACTIONS WITH CLIENTS AND TECHNICAL EXPERTISE AT A PROFESSIONAL LEVEL.
    4. PROVIDE CLIENTS WITH BASIC TRAINING.
    5. E nsure that projects are executed on time and within budget.
    6. ENSURE THAT QES PROCEDURES ARE STRICTLY ADHERED TO AND THAT PROJECT WORK IS EXECUTED WITH MAXIMUM OVERALL TECHNICAL EFFICIENCY.
    7. ACTIONBLY PARTICIPATE IN TEAM DEBATES AND TECHNICAL DECISIONS.
    8. PRODUCE PROFESSIONAL REPORTS, PAPERS, AND PRESENTATIONS AT LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES.
    9. KEEP UP-TO-DATE AT A PROFESSIONAL LEVEL WITH TECHNOLOGY AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENTS RELEVANT TO THE DIVISION'S INTERESTS.

    Requirements:

    • BSc. or BEng. in Chemical or Electrical Engineering.
    • Good grades (>70%) in Process Control and Process Modelling modules.
    • MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL LOCALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY, AND WORK WITH MINIMAL SUPERVISION.
    • The following skills/knowledge will be advantageous:
    • Final year project in process control or process modelling.
    • Computer programming (e.g., Matlab, C, C#, or Python).

    About the Role:

    This is a permanent position with market-related remuneration. The ideal candidate will have experience in advanced process control systems, specifically milling and flotation control onsite installations. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
